If one watches the sky when standing in a crooked lane in a city called kelichain of Ukrainian of Former Soviet Union, he can clearly find that the sky is very blue and clear and the stars are shining brightly. The eaves are just on the top of his eyebrow so that he can easily look up the sky. And the whole crooked lane is hided under the whole dark night because there are no tall buildings in this lane.
　　The lanterns were dim alone the lane where Sasa Vlajimir were picking and arranging various fruits on the fruit shelf. His work was to look after this fruit stand. At that time, Wassil Nowicky was going back home under the lanterns through the way of this fruit stand.
　　『Hi, Wassil! You have come back!』Sasa Vlajimir said hello to Wassil.
　　『Yes, Mr. Sasa Vlajimir. How are you!』Wassil Nowicky answered.
　　Sasa Vlajimir picked up two peaches from the fruit shelf and gave them to Wassil Nowicky, 『Wassil, come here. This two peaches are for you.』
　　『I…』Wassil Nowicky dared not accept these peaches.
　　『This two are for you and your sister. Just accept them.』
　　『Mr. Sasa Vlajimir. If I accept these peaches, I must pay your money.』

　　He continued, 『Wassil. You are very intelligent and intelligent people should now what they must do immediately and must carry on doing it.』
　　『Yes. I understand!』Wassil Nowicky nodded.
　　『I know that your sister and you are now only living upon the pension your father obtained from the factory, so you must use it economically. Go home now!』

　　The first snow of this year would come soon…Wassil Nowicky walked alone the river bank. The green pine needles of the pine trees alone the river bank become withered, and the withered yellow had replaced the spirited green days before.
　　Wassil Nowicky liked to go to Dr. Cofija Kalelina's place after school recently, because in her research lab there were full of medical books and scientific periodicals.
　　Cofija Kalelina once told him while pointing piles of books, 『What is the cancer cell is a world myth till now.』
　　Those words shocked Wassil Nowicky a lot, and brought into his heart a seed.

　　『Doctor, can you tell me more about DNA?』
　　『Well,』Dr. Cofija Kalelina peeped at Wassil Nowicky, 『you really have read that scientific journal!』

　　 『Tumor can be divided into benign tumor and malignant tumor. Benign tumor is a kind of tumor that can not proliferate through intruding and transfering. As long as the tumor does not adhere on to any important internal organs, what we generally do is to resect the benign tumor through operation.』Doctor Cofija Kalelina answered.
　　Wassil Nowicky asked：『what is malignant tumor？』
　　Doctor Cofija Kalelina answered：『the malignant tumor tissue would grow new vessels and would proliferate through intruding and transfering. A term in medical science calls this kind tumor "cancer".』
　　『What bad effect would cancer has in human body？』Wassil Nowicky asked.
　　『It can filter into neighboring tissues or into lymphatics or vessels, and would destroy the function of normal organs and tissues.』Doctor Cofija Kalelina answered.
　　

　　Wassil Nowicky asked, 『Will there be more possibility to cure a patient if we find the cancer earlier?』
　　Dr. Cofija Kalelina answered, 『In most cases it is. But now we could not find the cancer as early as possible.』
　　『How fast does the cancer destroy human's organs and tissue?』Wassil Nowicky asked.
　　『There is no certain scientific data. According to our clinic experience, it may as slow as for two or three years, or as fast as within three months.』

Although she never felt easy to eat the whole loaf of bread, she continued to bite and swallow. Because she enjoyed the supervision from her brother; she would like to let her brother know that she ate very much, and this would make her brother happy.

　　The brother and the sister finished packing their bags and Wassil Nowicky stood by his bicycle.
　　Olga Nowicky said, 『Brother! I run and you chase me!』
　　She started to jog with joy, the breeze touching her flying hair softly. Behind her, he rode the bicycle and followed.
　　They surpassed several pedestrians. These early risers had their own purpose to rise up early every morning.

　　Wassil Nowicky held her to the back seat of the bicycle and jumped onto the bike to rash away----

　　The moon seemed get up so early. It quietly appeared on the opposite side of the evening sun, hiding shyly in the pink sky.
　　Olga Nowicky's favorite time was when her brother accompanied her to review the school works every night.
　　She found that her brother finished reading his book, so when he closed the book, she asked happily to Wassil Nowicky,
　　『Brother! Can you check me with the multiplication tables?』
　　『No problem!』Wassil Nowicky stretched his shoulders.

　　She felt that as long as brother was here, everything would be fine to her. But she wanted to cry now.
　　She attached her face to brother's chest, sobbing.
　　Wassil Nowicky didn't know at all why his sister started to cry.
　　『Sister! Why are you crying?』
　　『Brother, will you…teach me to read…forever? 』she sobbed.
　　『Of course I will! Of course!』
　　『Will you leave me?』
　　『How can I leave you?! No, I won't of course!』
　　『Brother, please don't teach me to recite the multiplication tables.』
